Our story
We’re committed to creating a world where every child has access to books.
can transform someone's life.
Did you know that reading to your child for just 15 minutes can help them develop a love of reading that would last a lifetime?
One book can truly transform someone’s life.
Brandon's story
Brandon was a free spirit who traveled the country as a lumberjack, a traveling band member, a camper, a traveler, but most importantly as an avid reader.
The inspiration behind the establishment of Kids Read America is deeply personal. Founded in 2022, it was born out of the memory and passion of Brandon Jacobe Johnson. He was an avid reader who believed every child, regardless of background or circumstance, should have access to the wonders of literature.
This 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization creates and develops projects to nurture a lifelong love of reading by putting books in the hands and homes of children because every child should have the means to read.
We envision a world where all children have the chance to dream, learn, and thrive through the pages of a book.
